iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad

I done a little research (along with some feedback from readers) and found two apps for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad that open password protected pdf files. Below is the info.

Be sure the pdf(s) is saved on the desktop or somewhere on your harddrive.

Drag pdf(s) from your desktop into iTunes, adding it to your iPad listed under devices. Be sure the file syncs to your iPad.

On your iPad, tap to open iBooks, tap on the Library on top left, then Collections, and select pdf(s).

The pdf(s) file will be listed. Tap the pdf(s) you wish to open and it will ask for your password. Enter the supplied password and you will be able to view your ebook(s).

Amazon Kindle

Only Amazon's Kindle 3 (Graphite and White versions) have support for pdf password protected files.

Older Kindles make a note in the paypal transaction about which unit you are using.

B&N Nook

B&N Nook does support pdf password protected files. Just transfer the file(s) over to your Nook and your set to go once you enter your password for the file.

Android Phones

I did some research about Android support for pdf password protected files and came up with 2 solutions. Neither one has been tested, and they both are paid apps.

1st BeamReader it is $2.99 and has a 10 day trial before you buy.

2nd DataViz Documents to Go. There is a Free version and an unlocked version ($29.99). It states the free version allows the view of Word and Excel files but nothing about pdf files. So I am not sure if you can use the free version to view the files or not. Just select the Documents to Go (1st software at top left). Then choose the device you have and it will load a page specific to that device
