I feel in love with Rajar and the king of the fimiliars - and now I am forever hooked on the characters and books they are simply wonderful. They gave a breath of fresh air to romance novels.

I'd love to be a character in one of these books for a day. No wait, a month? They are so sexy and you are a fantastic writer who can create a work that is gloriously artistic and funny. I love your style. I wish the legal hassles were over for both of us!

I have been a fan of your ever since I read Mine To Take, and I had been wondering what happened to you after I found the rest of your books. I just found your site tonight (3-31-04, 1:06am) and I read what DP is doing. I can't believe it. And I submitted to them once. I can understand to a small degree what you are going through. I've asked similiar questions of my pushing company (PublishAmerica.com) and they've given me the brush off as well. But I haven't given up. I love your work. I don't write romance myself but you are one of the reasons why I read it.
A kiss on the cheek.

I'm sorry to hear about the lawsuit. I had wondered why there were no new books out. I've read every other Dara Joy book I can find and eagerly awaited more, but none ever came and the website didn't say anything new for a long time. I was beginning to think Dara had writer's block. I'm so relieved to read that's not true. The new book sounds fantastic and I'm eagerly anticipating reading it.
I dunno, they seem to have it all already. What they don't have, they don't need.

A friend at work let me borrow her Knights of A Trillion Stars. I wanted to read more and she let me borrow Mine to Take and Rejar. I enjoyed the series so much I went out and bought them. I found Rejar in a Half Price Bookstore. By the way Rejar is my favorite. I like the familiars and hope to read more of your books as soon as the legal problems are over. Thanks for the kind of pictures you put in my head as I read these books.

Dara, Just wanted to let you know that I am eagerly anticipating "That Familar Touch", and I hope you are making progress in your court battle. Why don't we hear about this in the news media? It seems that exposure would put the pressure on Dorchester Press to settle this case just to get out of the bad publicity, litigation and attorney fees they must be experiencing. Can you put an update on the case on your website? I would like to hear from time to time how it is going. I have read all your books and may now have to start rereading them if you aren't able to get back to doing what you do best. Best of luck to you in your quest for what you are already entitled to. I can't wait until my book is delivered. Thanks for the teaser on your website!! Now I really can't wait.

I only just learned of your difficulties with the lawsuit and hope that all will go well for you. I have enjoyed your books for years, especially the matrix books and have longed for more stories. I wish you well and look forward to the day when this situation is resolved and once again you are free to write as you please. I also hope that one day "That Familiar Touch" will be available in Australia and that we "Down Under's" will have the chance to enjoy more escapades of the "Knights of Charl". All the best for the future..

I hope all Dara Joy's legal problems come to an end, I am exteremly anxious to learn the other stories in the lives of the characters she has already introduced yet has told. (ie: the characters of River, or the young daughter of Claudine, or the Arkeus the son Green and Jorlan from Ritual of Proof)
I don't think it could be anything comparable to the gift that the hero himself would be to me.

I just saw the notice about the lawsuit as well. Too bad Dorchestor isn't a publically traded company. Then their accounting practices and controls would go through an audit. Definitely add me to your mailing list, and let me know if you will be publishing another set of books. I will buy one for myself and another friend I know loves your books. Keep writing. And I know you've probably gotten this a few hundrend times, but I would love to read Traed's story.
of course something sexual pops into my head first. But I'm actually a dog person. I wonder how a familiar would deal with a girl that comes with dog? So I guess that gift would have to be something to help him be more comfortable in a dog household...*_* whatever that is.

Dara Joy has been one of my favorite authors for some time now. Every book just keeps getting better. I was thrilled with the Retual of Proof publication and was avidly waiting for a sequal that never came. I had no idea what was happening until I decided to key word her name on the internet and found this site. I'm horrified at what is happening and hope that Dara Joy wins against these odds. I am proud to be a reader and wish to continue. Best wishes to Dara Joy.

If it is possible you feel that you can do another shipping I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I missed the deadline this time but hope there is another one set up. I waited so long for Dara Joy's next book and to see a printing company take advantage of an author like this is crazy! Don't they realize is the readers who make their profit for them when they buy books from their company? Such greedy people! Take care of yourself and the "characters".

I just completed reading Ritual of Proof that I received from www.booksfree.com. Then I came to this website to find out about other books and was appalled to learn about the lawsuit from Dorchester books. How can they do this? Talk about big business out to hurt the little guy. Is there anything your fans can do to help? Don't let them stop you from telling your stories. If you have to self-publish or just put everything on the web and ask for us to pay you directly....DO IT!!! You're an excellent storyteller. I'm praying for you. And you're right...every problem has a solution. Right is right.

I hope that all goes well with your legal battle. I'm glad you're fighting them and had never let them control what you write. I don't usually read romance, but I really enjoyed your role reversal story Ritual of Proofs, which I recently came across on the web when querying for role reversal stories. I like the world in which you have created. I hope that someday you would return to that unique world.

I would like a copy of your new book. When do you think that you will be able to offer it again? Also, WHEN you win your lawsuit I was wondering if you were going to reprint some of your older books (preferably hardback) for those who want them? And finally, to the book RITUAL OF PROOF, is it going to become part of a series? If so, when will the next book come out? Here kitty, kitty, kitty. Love those familiars.

I am glad you are fighting them, but I so miss your stories. I enjoyed High Energy and High Intensity very much also. You are a delightful storyteller and am sad your stories are being blocked from those who enjoy them so much. I wish you much luck. Dorchester should be more careful with its good writers, but it doesn't surprise me. I have heard many tales from authors I have known over the years, about royalty fraud. Hope you win in your endeavor.

I remember when i was first introduced to your books a few years ago and falling in love with every hero and heroine(not to mentions some of the supporting characters)I love all of the fantasy(MOD)books, but i also love all that mytic and humour and wit in the more contemporary novel of Tyber and Zanita. These are the books that you can just sit and read for hours and make you feel good. I hope you win this fight Dara, so you can keep on creating these wonderful worlds and their stories.

I recently read the 3 Matrix of Destiny books. (at least I think it's just 3. It's hard to tell.) I loved them. I can't wait to find out what happens next! I wish I had found this website earlier. I'd love to get the new book but it looks like I'm too late. BTW, a lot of the books you don't have links for are available in Barnes and Nobel out of print books.

Dear Dara, I have read every one of your books. And I anxiously look forward to each new one. Your books are so unlike any other author I have ever read, and I have read ALOT. I can sympathize with the problems you are currently having. I too am involved in a lawsuit with my former employer. It's been about 1.5 years and I have watched them try to break me, from enforcing a non-compete clause to limit my ability to find other work, to turning simple 4 hour depositions into 2 day marathons (court reporter and processing fees must be paid at time unlike attorneys fees). I have been completely through my savings, I went from a 60k a year management position to barista at a local coffee store. But enough of that, Ms. Joy, your magic comes from within you, hold on to that no matter what they throw at you, use it as a shield to get you through this. I remind myself everyday that there is nothing on the outside that can touch what I carry on my inside. take care, blessings to you!

I haven't kept up recently but I can only assume by the title of the new book that Dara won the rights to the Matrix series. I had just about given up hope that we would every hear from them again.

I just read about your lawsuit with Dorchester and am astounded with the ramifications they have no qualms about creating. They are quite a arrogent company to take away your right to share your wonderful stories and then not pay you. I bet they would want to be paid if they were in your shoes. Good luck in the lawsuit and I hope everything turns out ok for you.

I have read bout the trouble with Dorchester, Have you tried the American Civil Liberies Union? Would that be enough of a travesty of treatment to comply with their idealogies? I hope you can blow open all the secret doors. It is ludicrous to direct what others should think or read. Let alone cheat someone out of recompense for THEIR hard work and creativity. It is not too hard to see Big Brother (aka. Orwell) at work here. Go Get em!!

I started reading your books back in 1996 when High Energy was released with Krentz's Whirlwind Courtship. Krentz had been my favorite author since I was 9. My dog had managed to get a hold of my copy of WC. When I went to the bookstore to replace it, I figured the two for one book was a better deal. I had not even bothered to notice the name of the other story, let alone the author. Imagine my surprise when my favorite story turned out to be from the unknown author. In fact, I found myself back at the bookstore less than three hours after my purchase to see if she had any other books. When I found Knight of a Trillion Stars(Romantic Sci-Fi/Fantasy is my favorite genre.), I was hooked. It would be impossible to tell you how many times I have read your books over the years. With your talent for writing funny, exciting and downright imaginative stories, I still laugh out loud each and every time I read one. I have had my fingers crossed for you since I found out you were taking on Dorchester. I agree wholeheartedly with the stand you have taken. Big corperations should not be allowed to continue cheating people simply because they can afford long, drawn-out (finance-breaking) court battles with expensive (sometimes less than honest!) council. I hope you knock Dorchester on its you-know-what! After their reprehensible behavior, they certainly deserve it. Words can not begin to express how excited I was to hear you were able to find an alternate route to get your stories out to us. I am eagerly looking forward to reading your new book. I am sure it will be just as enjoyable as all your others. Thank you for all the pleasure your books have given to me. Bekka
I would buy Traed a cute, little stuffed pig. He needs something completely frivolous to simply make him smile.

Can't get enough of your storytelling, Dara. My mother-in-law is an author, and frankly, we're both horrified by Dorchester. Keep fighting as long as you can. My writer's circle (about 250 of us) have all written Dorchester expressing our outrage over thier treatment of the authors. Just remember, you do have fans who are behind you 200%!
I wouldn't buy it. I'd make it. Something from the heart that meant something to the both of us.

I like all your books because they are highly sensual and make me wish for that in my life. It also gives me something to hope for in the future. I am a little confused by High Energy and High Intensity. Although I still like them and hope to see Tyber and Zanita in another book soon.

My computer has been down for some time. I am behind on all the news! I love all your books. The matrix of destiny books I really find it difficult to wait for. Please let me know if I can still get your latest book. They are the best I have read and, I have read many. Please let me know also if Traed will have his own story. Thank you so much for the wonderful stories that transport one away from everyday humdrum life to some intriguing places.

Hard to pick my favorite of any of Dara Joy's books, but since Rejar managed to combine my favorite period (Regency) with one of my other favorite genres (sci-fi romance) I could not resist this one!
Hard to pick, but think it would have to be a beautiful shirt of the most sensual fabric I could find.

I have been waiting since I first read Mine to Take for any and all books pertaining to these characters. It's set as an epic tale, and I want to know more about Rejar and Traed and the others. I have only just now heard of why there has been nothing new and am extremely angered. Yes, it's purely selfish. When I start a series I like, I like to own everything that is a part of it. I have Knight of a Trillion Stars, Rejar, Mine to Take, Tonight or Never, and (lost) *High Energy/Whirlwind Courtship. I have over $1,000 worth of books to buy to own all I've read and to complete series I am currently in, but I do have my priorities, and you've been near the top for years. I dearly want your newest book, but I am restricted by my finite cashflow (unemployed), and lack of transportation. I can only buy from bookstores suck as Border's and Barnes&Nobles (Waldenbooks has closed down I believe). I rank your importance with that of Robert Jordan, Laurell K. Hamilton, Christine Feehan, Katherine Kerr, and LE Modesitt Jr. You are one of my favorite authors and it DOES hurt me to be forever anxious and then so cruelly dissappointed because of some piece of shit publishing company. Is there any way I can help? I'm kind of a ditz, but with good direction, I am told I can do anything I put my mind/heart to. I have to rebuy High Energy, and then buy High Intensity still, but my priorities are first new books and books that are almost OOP. I'd hate to lose all chance at buying what I desire (i.e. Ginny Reyes "A Fairy Tale"). Please contact me at the above address or kyote84@hotmail.com (Subject Darajoy, Traed, Jennifer...something I'll notice and not delete). Thank you. If I can be of service, just ask.

Love the new website. I love all the books Dara Joy has written and like everyone else was waiting anxiously for Traed's story. I was ill for a few months and when I finally was able to use the computer again I was surprised to find the old website gone. It took several hours for me, not being a gee whiz computer user, to find the new site and then I find there is a new book and I missed the deadline. Help!
Good Heavens I haven't the foggiest idea! That would take some deep thoughts.

I got onto the Dorchester web site and left a message regarding the fact that I am, and will continue to, boycott ALL Dorchester publications. I also apologized to their other authors for, unfortunately, having to boycott their work. I informed Dorchester that I hope that as the time comes for authors to sign new contracts, those contracts go unsigned. I am now going to a local used book store for books by those authors (no money involved, trade only, so Dorchester gets nothing).

I went through something similar in the cover-up aspect of what you are going through. I am so sorry. I was harrassed by a very high ranking individual in a branch of the armed forces. Lies were told, names were switched. I contacted my congressman, who helped somewhat. Ironically, after I gave up, the proof was literally put into my hands. Funny how things turn out, isn't it? Because I love my husband, I let it go. Not that he asked me to, it was my choice. I have always regretted it. Never give up, never give in, and do unto others before they do unto you. I suffered a nervous breakdown because of it. Don't do what I did. Never do that. I have two artists in my family. I have seen what it is like to try to create, and not be free to do it. Do what you have to do to live with yourself, and I for one will be waiting, to walk in the worlds you create in the future. No matter how long it may take. Be strong.

Dara, know that your fans will ALWAYS support you. You have such a wonderful gift with storytelling that it's impossible to forget you or your stories. Do what you have to do to stay true to yourself. I have faith that with your strength and determination you will win this battle. I'm stunned that the people at Dorchester can treat a human being (who has incredible talent!) so wrongly. They have no right dictate your imagination. Don't they know that we readers can tell a REAL novel from a piece of generic trash? I am truly insulted. I will definately be paying more attention to what publishing house is on any of my future puchases. Whatever you do, STAY STRONG! Diane

My Dear Dara: I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!! I AM UP FOR A GOOD FIGHT!! I can't believe those idiots at Dorchester think they can get away with this! I am a newer fan, and a NOISY one! I own my own business in Chicago. I am the comptroller/accountant there. Money is my middle name! I have to think "Outside of the box" ALL of the time. When I heard what your going threw, I decided I WANT TO HELP YOU! IN MY WORK, I HAVE NO TIME TO THINK OF PROBLEMS, ONLY SOLUTIONS! So I've been brainstorming for 3 days now. First I thought, my company can make a donation to you! GOOD CALL! And I will, but that was not good enough. Then I thought, even though I don't agree with them, many people tell me I should model, so I'll model for Dara FOR FREE! No no no, that's not enough either. THEN IT HIT ME! MONEY, MODEL, FANS! I HAVE THE ULTIMATE PLAN! I know you need money to keep fighting and I have a solution that I KNOW WILL WORK. You have SO many fans that love you. SO, COME ON GUYS, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER AND HELP DARA! THE FATE OF THE MOST WONDERFUL AUTHOR IN THE WORLD IS AT STAKE HERE! IT'S NOT ABOUT THE BOOKS ANYMORE, THOSE ARE WORTH THE WAIT! It's about justice! They may think they can hurt her financialy, but they can't stop US FROM HELPING HER! I know Dara that if you give my plan a chance, it will work! I PROMISE! Just give me a few moments of your time. I WANT TO HELP YOU AND I KNOW I CAN! I don't want to just sit on the sidelines and wave my pom poms for you. I really feel that every one of your fans would LOVE to help you as I would. My plan involves a dinner invitation from one of the most elusive Models in the Romance Industry with the initials J.A, and a big huge banquet hall. EVERY WOMAN IN THE WORLD WANTS TO MEET HIM. NO ONE KNOWS A THING ABOUT HIM. EVERY ONE WOULD GET PAID (Except for me, I don't want anything). And you would get the resources you need to keep fighting. Convincing Him might be some what of a CHALLENGE, but I'm always up for a challenge! COME ON DARA! WHAT DO YOU SAY? Say anything you want, BUT DON'T SAY NO! I don't want to disclose any more details so that way it can be a surprise for all of your fans. BUT PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK AT edicosola@cdshapecutters.com or write me A.S.A.P. Send a carrier pigeon if you have to, BUT GET BACK TO ME! I CAN HELP YOU.I DON'T BELIEVE IN FAILURE! The only failure I'll ever know is heart failure! Please let me know EXACTLY where to send you a donation. I don't want to send it to you, only to have it sit in a pile of letters for 3 months. I know you can use it now. LET'S SHOW THESE MORANS AT DORCHESTER THAT WE ARE NOT GOING TO SIT BACK AND TAKE THIS! Some one on this web site offered to get you a High Profile lawyer, and pay for it. If it's true, take them up on the offer! Two and a half years of you going threw this sh** is long enough! I am no stranger to injustice. A year ago my brother was murdered by two punks who needed money for their drugs. He was shot five times over $100.00 in his pocket. The police caught the killers, but then let them go. But I never gave up on him, and I won't give up on you. Even when I lose, I win. Because I stand up for what I believe in, AND I BELIEVE IN YOU DARA! Write me back or e-mail me SOON, PLEASE! YOUR THE BEST, EMILY XO

A couple of years ago, I bought Knight of a Trillion Stars, looking for a new author and the book description seemed intriguing. Unfortunately, or not depending on your perspective, I read very fast so I am always on the look out for new authors as I gobble up everything my favorite writers put out like candy. I finished your book and the next day I went right back and bought the other 2, plus I got ROP when it came out. I have been anxiously awaiting further books, as I found your books fascinating and memorable. I had no idea there was such a horrible reason that was keeping you from being able to get your works out to the fans that love you. I think it is deplorable and there should be something we fans can do, since we in effect pay the publisher's salaries, to help make this right.

Hi Ms.Joy, I have been one of your fans for a long time. Your books always makes me laugh and pretend that I'm one of the characters in your stories. Always makes me feel good inside. Couple of times I've had to fight my sister for a copy of your book. I always come out the victor. But sometimes i have victory scars. Anyway I hope you win the lawsuit. Also that you keep on writing. Waiting for the next great book you write. Your fan, Kim Terkhorn

I have just finished reading MINE TO TAKE and I loved it. I am going to read the other two in the series as well. When I found out about this website I came here to see when the next Matrix book was due out, that was when I learned about the lawsuit. I hope that you win this lawsuit for you, the fans, and for your books as well. I will be waiting for the next book in the series to come out (hopefully very soon). Good luck to you, Kim
